Karey Hampton is an Associate in the San Diego office of Orbach Huff & Henderson LLP. Her practice focuses on advising school districts and public agencies on a broad range of transactional matters, with a focus on charter school operations and real estate issues.
Karey has extensive experience in transactional law, having served as outside general counsel to both tax-exempt organizations and for-profit entities. In this capacity, she has advised clients on labor and employment issues, real estate transactions, contract drafting and negotiation, board governance and disputes, regulatory compliance, intellectual property matters, and joint ventures. Karey also brings experience in civil litigation, particularly in business and real estate disputes. This combined experience informs her strategic, risk-conscious approach to client representation.
Karey earned her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law, where she received Academic Excellence Awards in Contracts, Trial Practice, and Torts.
Outside of work, Karey enjoys spending quality time with her husband, daughters, and pug, as well as exploring local hiking trails and trying out new recipes she discovers on social media.
